Barbara Massina, LCSW
Barbara Massina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University. She has provided mental health support services for almost twenty-five years in the hospital and healthcare sector as well as in her private practice—to individuals, families and groups.
While at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Bellevue Hospital Center she specialized in meeting the psychosocial needs of oncology patients and their families and psychiatric patients within a fast paced emergency room.
Barbara currently also facilitates groups at the Center for Hope at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Northwell Health, for families coping with grief. Prior to joining Long Island Mind and Body
Barbara helped individuals and families within her private practice cope with issues such as grief, loss, anxiety, depression and parenting stressors.
Barbara brings her varied and extensive experiences to this setting to be able to compassionately work with individuals with an array of emotional challenges.
