Doctor Genovese is an attending physician at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. His private practice in Garden City, New York focuses on mood and anxiety disorders, depression, insomnia, addiction and medico-legal issues. The practice is among the first in New York to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation for the treatment of depression and one of the few practices on Long Island certified by the United States Drug Enforcement Agency to prescribe buprenorphine for the treatment of opiate dependence.
Prior to joining the staff at Winthrop University Hospital, Doctor Genovese was a Fellow in the department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. He completed his adult psychiatry residency training at the University of Connecticut. Prior to attending medical school, Doctor Genovese earned a law degree at The University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
In addition to clinical practice, Doctor Genovese is a prolific public lecturer on the topics of psychopharmacology and neuromodulation. He teaches resident physicians and medical students at Winthrop University Hospital and serves as a consultant to several school districts and private industries.
